The Foundation employs a two-step application process. First, prospective applicants should approach the Foundation by submitting a letter of inquiry, as described below. Then, if the letter of inquiry indicates a potential fit with the Foundation’s criteria, applicants will be invited to submit a more formal proposal.
Prospective applicants should carefully review the Eligibility Guidelines and What We Fund under our Children, Youth, & Families grantmaking program. Funding inquiries should demonstrate a familiarity with the program's relevant goals and strategies.
Letters of inquiry and invited proposals for grants larger than $82,500 need to be received by specific dates in order to be considered at one of the Foundation's three board meetings.
If you are invited to submit a formal proposal, this link provides a template and other general instructions. Applicants should complete all sections in full and attach all required components. This helps us to process requests in a timely manner.
A complete proposal requires development of outputs and outcomes to help track and monitor the project's accomplishments. Definitions, examples, and a sample worksheet on completing outputs and outcomes can be found in this section.
