Grantmaking Philosophy
Our approach recognizes the interconnectedness of our natural and built environments and promotes regional growth by reinvesting in existing assets.
Funding Priority: Protect and Conserve Significant Regional Landscapes
We seek to increase the amount of public and private resources available for land conservation in general, and to permanently protect specific landscapes selected for their strategic value to our region’s overall environment.
Funding Priority: Protect, Conserve, and Restore Water Resources
We support advocacy for reforms to state water policies and regulations and also promote innovative local projects that test applications of regulations and demonstrate new practices and local policy approaches for adoption by state or municipal governments.
Funding Priority: Improve Regional Prosperity and Competitiveness
We support collaborative regional initiatives, research and trend analysis aimed at increasing non-local resources and private investment in the region, and state policy advocacy and pilot demonstration projects that facilitate sustainable development and improved fiscal health in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Funding Priority: Revitalize Greater Philadelphia's Urban Core
We support advocacy for policies that facilitate sustainable redevelopment and improve fiscal health in Philadelphia and Camden, as well as innovative projects that accelerate the strategic redevelopment of targeted neighborhoods in the region’s urban areas.
