Building Environmental Leadership in Greater Philadelphia
Publication Date: February 16, 2006
Regional environmental leaders are encouraged to take advantage of capacity-building opportunities offered in Greater Philadelphia by two nationally-recognized training institutions. In 2004, the Foundation commissioned a study to assess the needs of regional environmental organizations. Through this research, local organizations identified fundraising, communications, strategic planning, board development, and technology as areas where they needed training and support. In response to these findings, the Foundation has made grants to the Institute for Conservation Leadership and the Environmental Leadership Program to provide capacity-building opportunities for organizations in Greater Philadelphia. Throughout 2006 and 2007, the Institute for Conservation Leadership is conducting a series of training sessions in Greater Philadelphia on organizational leadership and effectiveness for environmental groups. Learn more about ongoing offerings here. The Delaware Valley Regional Network is a year-long program for emerging environmental leaders. This professional development opportunity is conducted by the Environmental Leadership Program through a series of retreats and other activities scheduled throughout the year. The application deadline for this year's program is February 28, 2006. Click here for more information on the program and application process.
