NewsImproving the Quality of Out-of-School Time Programs Through Evaluation Publication Date: March 24, 2006
The University of Pennsylvania's Out-of-School-Time Research Center, with the support of the William Penn Foundation, has released an online toolkit to help evaluate the success of conferences designed to provide training to staff of out-of-school programs for young people.
The tool is free to use, but training providers are in return asked to share data collected through the survey instrument to help researchers better understand the impact of professional development opportunities on out-of-school time staff. Ultimately, the tool will help to improve the quality of programming that young people receive in a variety of settings.
The work of the Out-of-School-Time Research Center was recently featured in the Evaluation Exchange, a periodical published by the Harvard Family Research Project.
