Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger has released a new report documenting the efforts of a public-private partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW), the Fox Leadership Program of the University of Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development, and Pathmark Stores, Inc.

The partnership's 18-month Food Stamp Enrollment Campaign enrolled 2,000 clients, bringing an additional $3.2 million federal dollars into low-income
Philadelphia neighborhoods and generated an estimated $5.9 million boost for local businesses.  The campaign also led to several new initiatives by DPW and the coalition to increase access to the food stamp program, which were announced in June on Hunger Awareness Day.

The report is available online from the Hunger Coalition.
