News line A Civic Vision for the Peoples' Waterfront

On November 14, 2007, before nearly 1,500 citizens assembled in the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Penn Praxis presented the results of a year-long civic engagement process to create a new vision for Philadelphia’s Central Delaware Waterfront.

A wide range of competing interests and intense opinions about the future of the seven-mile stretch between Oregon and Allegheny Avenues made for a difficult and sometimes fractious year of planning, but ultimately, the process allowed Philadelphians to work through those issues and arrive at a new vision for one of their greatest assets: the Central Delaware Waterfront.

Learn more about the process and view elements of the November 14 presentation here.

The following video (courtesy of Penn Praxis) is an overview of the civic vision process.
