Bruce Bergen, Director, Finance and Operations

Bruce has oversight responsibility for accounting, financial reporting, budgets, grants administration, human resources, information technology and administration. In addition, Bruce is responsible for Federal and state tax reporting and compliance and also works with program staff to help with financial reviews of grantees. Bruce has more than 25 years of financial reporting and management experience working in healthcare and nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2006, he served as Director of Financial Reporting for St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA. The medical center is part of the Catholic Health Initiatives system and Bruce served CHI for 13 years in regional and local financial management roles. Prior to that, Bruce had managerial and financial roles in healthcare, providing audit and administrative services working with the Medicare program and in public accounting. Bruce has an MBA from St. Joseph’s University and a BS in Business Administration from Drexel University. Bruce is also a certified public accountant.
