Ronnie L. Bloom, Esq. is the Director of Children, Youth, & Families at the William Penn Foundation, where she manages grantmaking and other activities intended to promote the full development of children and youth to become capable adults and productive citizens, with a special emphasis on key transitions in their lives. Since coming to the Foundation, Ms. Bloom has led its efforts to improve early care and education for young children in both the state and the region. She has had primary responsibility for one of the Foundation’s largest initiatives, Child Care Matters, a six-year, $14 million investment in promoting quality child care in Philadelphia, and has managed a number of systems reform and service integration efforts.
Ms. Bloom serves on the board of the Delaware Valley Grantmakers association, and has been appointed to a number of positions including the Governor’s Task Force on Early Care and Education, the Mayor of Philadelphia’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Children’s Behavioral Health, and the Family Planning Council’s Research Review Panel. She is a member of the Early Childhood Funders’ Collaborative, and has promoted the Foundation’s efforts to build early learning systems in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey through participation in the Collaborative’s Build Initiative.
Ms. Bloom began her career as a Family Law attorney, and received both her B.A. and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.
